This article posted on Duquesne’s athletic site details the school’s plans to provide live streaming for every single Duquesne home contest, as long as it takes place on campus. The new system, hosted by College Sports Direct, will start broadcasting beginning with the women’s soccer game on Friday. Distance fans, rejoice! You will be able to access the video stream via the schedule pages for the various teams.
This will include football as well as men’s and women’s basketball and soccer. I know that it seems redundant to say after reporting that every team will be featured, but I feel that the emphasis is important because many of these teams were never broadcast before, at least not a regular basis and certainly not for free.
The new free plan is a big change from the previous “All-Access” effort. This was a subscription service that was often criticized by fans for not providing a total package and occasional graphic and sound issues. Of course this new method offers no guarantee in terms of quality, but it is free, so that’s something.
If you’re curious about the new system and what the presentation will be like, check out the first fall home contest of the year for any Duquesne team as women’s soccer welcomes St. Francis University to the bluff tomorrow at 7:00 PM, or their game against Pitt on Sunday at 3:00 PM.
If you want to check out the new interface prior to the start of the game, here is the link for the main College Sports Direct streaming portal. The first two women’s soccer matches are already listed on the right side of the screen.
