Good morning, Duquesne fans – - it’s GAMEDAY! Today at 1:00, the Dukes take on the Flyers, and this is your place to find all of the information for today’s game.
First, if you haven’t made the trip to Dayton, you can watch a streaming video feed here.
Also, this post from earlier today goes over some of they keys to victory for Duquesne.
Finally, we took a look at the Flyers’ loss to Youngstown State. If there’s a common theme to any of these pieces, it’s that if the Dukes are going to be successful today, it’s going to be from forcing Dayton Quarterback Will Bardo to pass.
Wagner, picked to finish 1st in the NEC, lost to Division II Merrimack yesterday 42-41. It was one of those games like you sometimes see when an FCS team battles an FBS team – the underdog jumped out to a lead, and then falls back to reality. That appeared to be the plot in this game, as Wagner racked up 21 consecutive points and took the lead.
That’s where the standard script went out the window.
Merrimack College orchestrated a 14 play, 96-yard drive to take the lead once more, and it was enough for the biggest upset in MC’s history.
Wagner is likely to lose the next two weeks as well, as they play Syracuse and Delaware. It’ll be interesting to see how the Seahawks rebound from this bad loss. It could turn out that Bryant, not Wagner, and their dangerous offense will be the chief rival to Duquesne for the NEC crown. Wagner was the only early game this weekend; the rest of the NEC action takes place today.
