Remember how in our earlier piece on Dukes Madness we discussed the desire among alumni to have something that was more inclusive?  Something that perhaps would cater to the season ticket holders?

Wish granted.

An email from earlier today announced that Duquesne will host the imaginatively named “Season Ticket Holder Preview Event.” I’ll refer to it as SeTHPrE. It’s happening on Monday, October 14th from 6 PM to 7:30 PM. The athletic department will provide light food and drink, and Jim Ferry and the Dukes will provide the entertainment. This new event is in addition to the alumni informational sessions that are hosted at Palumbo on various Tuesdays throughout the fall.

This preview event gives ticket holders the opportunity to check out the team on their own prior to the exhibition game on November 2nd. Game worn jerseys will also be available for purchase, which is pretty neat. I can’t remember seeing the actual basketball apparel for sale – replica or otherwise – in quite a while. Excluding, of course, the very cool Norm Nixon replica jerseys.

The email also makes it clear that season ticket holders are welcome to bring guests.  They’re also offering free Duquesne Athletics apparel to anyone who acts as a referral on a new season ticket purchase. Finally, there will also be discussion regarding eligibility for 2015 NCAA tickets. That’s been a nice perk for Duquesne ticket holders in the past.

So if you’re a ticket holder and didn’t have any idea that this was happening, root through your spam folder for the Preview invite! If you don’t have season tickets of your own but know someone who does, see if you can tag along. There’s basketball, there are prizes, unique things to purchase, and – best of all – free food. It’d be nice to have a strong showing for this Duquesne team!

See you at the SeTHPrE!
